What happens if I forget my password?
If you forget your password, please click on the 'Forgot your Password?' link of the front of the directory or on the sponsor login page. The password recovery email will be sent to the email address provided from your Contact Information. The email will contain a link which will redirect the user to the 'Manage Account' section, where the password can be updated.
Am I required to have an account to add items to the site?
Yes. In order to add any item, including Free items, to the directory you must have an account.
How can I sign up for an account?
To sign up as a sponsor go to the 'Advertise With Us' link at top menu, select an item and level and click in 'SIGN UP' button. Fill out all fields, write down your username and password for future reference, choose the best payment gateway for you and follow the steps to finish the process. To sign up as a visitor go to 'CREATE YOUR PROFILE' at top of site, fill out all fields and click in 'SUBMIT'.
What determines which listings appear as Featured Listings on the Home Page and main Listings page?
Only Diamond Listings appear as Featured Listings, and they are then randomly rotated.
How can I print an item from the directory?
The items in the directory which have a detail page will contain a 'Print' link. Just click the link to print the page.
Is it possible to tell a friend about something found within the directory?
Yes. Each item with in the directory contains a 'Sent to Friend' link. Click the link and a pop-up will open. Please fill out all fields in the pop-up and an email will be sent to your friend.
What do the numbers that appear after Category and Sub-Category names mean?
These numbers illustrate the total number of items registered under that category.
Is it possible to search for events by date?
You can search for events by date by clicking on any specific day/month you choose directly on the calendar.
Why am I receiving an 'Account Locked' message?
If you attempt to access your account and type in an incorrect password 5 times the account will lock for 1 hour. This is for security reasons.
I'm thinking of joining the Gold membership for the PPL insurance and I'm exhibiting at a craft fair at the weekend. How soon after I join am I covered and how do I get a copy of my policy details to show the organisers?
Cover is immediately in place as soon as your payment goes through for either our Gold Plus or Gold Extra subscriptions. Your policy details can be downloaded from your member account area dashboard and there is also a personalised 'To whom it may concern' document download to show event organisers as evidence of your cover.
How much PPL insurance cover do I need?
Exhibition organisers have differing requirements but, for your own protection, you should get cover with a minimum of £1,000,000. The Guild of Jewellery Designers policy offers cover for £5,000,000 for any one claim of products or public liability.
Can I pay for GoJD subscriptions by monthly installments?
Unfortunately, no, however, we do have the option of bi-monthly membership subscriptions along with yearly subscriptions. Yearly payments are slightly cheaper than bi-monthly.
Can I pay for my PPL insurance cover online?
Yes, cover is provided immediately upon payment for either Gold Plus or Gold Extra subscriptions.
Does the Guild cover include sales online?
Yes, cover is provided however you sell your products.
What is the eligibility criteria for PPL insurance cover under the Guild policy?
1. The member is a fully paid up Gold Plus or Gold Extra Member of the Guild 2. The member does not trade as a Limited Company, Limited Liability Partnership, Community Interest Company or any similar incorporated entity 3. The member does not have any employees on a full-time or part-time basis or engages any freelance workers on a labour only basis 4. The member is domiciled in the United Kingdom 5. The member does not trade out of a permanent retail premises other than a market stall or similar type arrangement
I make hand crafted products as well as jewellery, is your policy suitable for me?
Yes, this policy meets the demands and needs of individuals involved in the design and making of jewellery and other craftwork and also the teaching of craft making skills and requiring insurance against their legal liabilities to pay compensation arising out of injury to third parties and damage to third party property.
Which countries am I covered for, does the liability cover include the USA and Canada?
You will be insured within Great Britain, Northern Ireland the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and while temporarily engaged in Business outside these territories, other than within the United States of America or Canada.
Is there an excess to pay on a Public/Products liability claim?
Yes, you will be responsible for paying the first £250 of any claim.
What level of PPL cover do I get with Gold membership?
The limit of indemnity provided is £5,000,000 for any one claim with Gold Plus or Gold Extra membership.
I took out the gold plus membership and now I'm attending a wedding fair on 29/2/…. and require the PPL insurance certificate. I understand that I'm automatically insured as part of the membership, however will I need the certificate to show the organisers?
That's no problem, all of your documents are available to download in your account area under active resources along with a personalised 'To whom it may concern' document.
Can you please tell me where I can find details of the PPL Insurance that comes with the subscription? I need to print the policy details.
To print off your insurance documents please visit your account area on the GoJD website ( and login to access a link to your personalised insurance policy document* which can be printed off. The link is under 'Active Resources' and is listed as 'To Whom it May Concern(Yearly Personalised)'. *Please note: the document and policy are valid until 13 February yearly and whilst subscriptions for GoJD Gold Membership are still maintained. If for some reason payments fall into arrears the insurance policy and the attached document are no longer valid. If after 13 February you are still a GoJD Gold Member, you will still be covered and will be able to download updated documentation.
Do you have any tips for helping to maximise my marketing methods using the guild's services please?
In order to take full advantage of being a guild member we would suggest: - display the GoJD gold logo on your website with a link back to your guild profile (we have a new logo which includes text about the insurance cover) - display the GoJD logo on your marketing materials and as a sign if you have your work in a gallery, at a selling event or trade fair - write articles for the guild website which can be linked back to your website, blog and social media accounts. If writing articles sounds daunting then think blog posts ;) - use your free or Premium Designer Directory listing and make sure that your details are complete and kept up-to-date - ensure that your contact details and email address are kept up to date on your membership profile as commission opportunities are often emailed out to members - let us know if you have designed a new range or have any other news - we're always happy to share member's news on social media!
I keep getting reminder emails from the Guild saying that my subscription has expired when I know it's been renewed; why is this?
The system sends out renewal emails at set periods. If a member then renews their subscription with a different 'product' (for want of a better word!), the sytem will carry on reminding the member because it doesn't realise that the members' needs are now covered by a different subscription. For instance, a member may have a yearly Gold Plus subscription with manual renewal and then decide to swap to Gold Plus with automatic renewal to save the trouble of having to resubsribe. The two products are the same but with different payment schedules. There may be a few days overlap with the two subscriptions running side by side until the old one expires but the system still thinks it needs to remind about the older subscription.
I was wondering whether I could upgrade my membership from yearly standard Gold to Gold Extra so that I can get PPL? Could I do this pro-rata since my current membership doesn't expire until ……….?
Yes that's fine. We can work out the balance to pay and send you a payment request through PayPal and upgrade manually.
When I try to log in on the main website page it tells me that either my e-mail address or password is incorrect. If I use the Guild Member Login section then it accepts both address and password but takes me to the “Your Membership Information” page but I cannot see any way to get into the main site while still logged in, am I doing something wrong? in now classed as the main guild site now as the majority of information has been transferred over to there and guild members can access their account from there. However the guild membership software and the main site are different software systems and it's not posible to link memberships to the two systems for at the moment. To create a listing in the directory/main site, you will need to create a new account unfortunately. As far as I can see you don't have a directory/main site account just a guild account so that's probably the reason.
I'm a Gold member, can you tell me where I can find the Gold member discount codes to use on Supplier Partner websites?
Simply login to your Guild account dasboard (not the Designer Directory) and Discount codes for Supplier Partners can be found under the 'Information' tab > 'Supplier Discount Codes - Gold' Also in your account dashboard is the option to manage your subscription, download invoices, a link to download the mobile app and a link to the Supplier Partner Directory along with other resources such as banners for the affiliate scheme and information about adding logos to websites.
